Dirigit a adults amb qualsevol tipus d’experiència, des de principiants en la posada en escena que volen millorar el seu nivell d’anglès alhora que desenvolupen habilitats per parlar en públic, consciència d’un/a mateix/a, autoconfiança, veu, aprendre a treballar com a part d’un equip i el poder del llenguatge, fins a actors i actrius que volen sentir-se més segurs/es quan estan actuant en anglès, explorant conceptes com són la veritat i el joc en un idioma estranger.

Descripció del curs
Aquest curs d’entrenament en anglès està dirigit a persones adultes amb qualsevol mena d’experiència; des de principiants en la posada en escena que volen millorar les seves habilitats parlant en públic en anglès mentre aprenen les bases de la interpretació teatral, fins a actrius i actors que volen explorar eines noves i conegudes en una llengua estrangera. Totes les experiències són benvingudes, ja que hi haurà treball individualitzat sobre l’objectiu de cada estudiant.
El curs se centrarà en la veritat i credibilitat transmeses a l’escenari en la nostra pròpia llengua i en com transportar-les a un àmbit anglosaxó. Per fer-ho, el treball sobre diferents textos (guions, obres de teatre, monòlegs, discursos, etc.), l’anàlisi de diferents actuacions i la gravació de les dels mateixos estudiants serà essencial.
Description of the course
The Training in English course is aimed at adults with any kind of experience, from beginners in staging who want to improve their public speaking skills in English while learning the basic keys of acting, to actresses and actors who want to explore new and known tools in a foreign language. All experiences are welcome since there will be individualized work on each student’s objective.
The course will be focused on the truth and credibility transmitted on stage in our own language and how to transport it to an English environment. To do that, the work on different texts (scripts, plays, monologues, speeches, etc.), the analysis of different performances and the recording of the students’ ones will be essential.

Metodologia
La divisió dels materials del curs es definirà en tres blocs:
El primer d’ells se centrarà en improvisació teatral, dinàmiques lingüístiques i jocs d’interpretació que permetran a l’estudiant guanyar fluïdesa en anglès i confiança actuant en una llengua estrangera.
El segon bloc estarà dedicat a l’anàlisi de la manera d’actuar i el mètode de cada alumne, i les claus per llegir un text en anglès i realment entendre el que ens diu per tal d’aplicar-ho al nostre llenguatge corporal. A partir de gravar un monòleg en la llengua materna de l’estudiant, podrem aprendre què el fa natural i creïble i aplicar això a futures gravacions en anglès.
Finalment, el tercer bloc consistirà en la gravació d’aquelles actuacions en anglès i l’assaig d’un monòleg gravat que serveixi a l’estudiant com prefereixi: videobook, CV audiovisual, presentació, etc. El curs, exceptuant el primer monòleg, es durà a terme completament en anglès.
Methodology
The division of the course subjects will be defined by three blocks:
The first of them will focus on theatrical improvisation, linguistic dynamics and acting games which will allow the students gain fluency in English and confidence performing in a foreign language.
The second block will be dedicated to the analysis of each student’s way of acting and method, and the keys to read a text in English and really understand what it is telling us in order to apply it to our body language. By recording a monologue in the student’s mother tongue, we will be able to learn what makes it natural and believable and apply it to future recordings in English.
Finally, the third block will consist on the recording of those performances in English and the rehearsal of a recorded monologue that serves the student as they prefer: showreel, audiovisual CV, pitch, etc. The course, except from the first monologue, will be taught entirely in English.
Oriol Castro
Actor, guionista i professor d’interpretació en anglès. Des que era adolescent s’ha format en Interpretació, mentre més tard cursava el grau d’Estudis Anglesos a la UB i un màster en Guió de Ficció a l’ECIB. El seu entrenament actoral inclou formació dramàtica a l’escola Eòlia, així com cursos amb Mel Churcher, Luci Lenox i Boyan Ivic. Ha combinat el seu aprenentatge interpretatiu amb altres feines, com la de professor d’anglès. També ha treballat dins l’equip de comunicació de projectes del Parlament Europeu, i com a realitzador de diversos spots de disseminació per l’EIT Health. Entre la seva trajectòria artística, ha estat co-director i actor del grup de teatre de la UB, i ha actuat en diferents projectes teatrals estrenats al Sant Andreu Teatre o a La Seca Espai Brossa, així com a diversos curts i videoclips. El 2017, va escriure, dirigir i protagonitzar la seva primera pel•lícula de baix pressupost “Minnesota”, que va seguir el 2019 amb “ring of a man called sheshonq”, actualment en postproducció.
